From stunning views of Lake Tahoe to s’mores in the village

Your Day At Northstar

Northstar California Play Video

Elevate your experiences at Northstar, from live music to fireworks to a chance to meet Santa. Check out what’s going on this week on our events calendar.

8am Grab A Quick Bite

Copper Lane is a great stop in the village for the whole family. With pastries, breakfast burritos, healthy power bowls, and locally made coffee by Drink Coffee Do Stuff, it’s the perfect way to fuel up for a day of fun.

8:30am Drop Off The Littlest Ones

Northstar is proud to be the only resort in Lake Tahoe to offer accredited childcare, for ages 2-5. Kids who won’t be joining in on the mountain fun or who are too young for a lesson yet are in good hands at the Northstar Child Care Center, where they’ll spend the day playing together both indoors and outdoors.

9am School Is In Session

Meet your instructor for a private family lesson for kids three and up. Discover the kids adventure zone on the hill and be sure to stop and take a few family photos with our complementary Epic Mix photographers. For off mountain fun try the Village for  shopping, yoga, ice skating, and a tubing hill. Parents and grandparents alike can relax on the Overlook deck as the kids enjoy tubing and playing in the snow.

12pm Lunch With A View

Head for lunch at the Lodge Big Springs at the top of the Big Springs Gondola, and enjoy a seat on the outside deck surrounded by the mountains. We especially love the authentic street tacos from Chilly Peppers. There are tons of kid favorites available as well, like chicken fingers, french fries, and soups to warm you up.

1pm Explore The Mountain

We like to start the afternoon by heading to the summit and skiing down the East Ridge to enjoy an iconic view of Lake Tahoe- this is a favorite photo spot!

3pm Apres Ski

As you wrap up your day the fun continues in the Village at Northstar. Scoop up the whole family and head to the Overlook to enjoy a hot cocoa bar for the kids and warm signature cocktails for the adults. If your family hasn’t tested out the tubing hill yet, it’s a great way to end the day on a fun and carefree note. At 4pm, hop down to the ice skating rink where complimentary s’mores are served by fireside each afternoon. The free ice skating rink is available, with skates available for rental, or if you’re ready for an indoor activity the Village Candler offers candle making, pottery painting, and more.

6pm Family Dinner

Come together for dinner at Rubicon Pizza, which offers a wide variety of delicious wood-fired pizzas, including gluten free and vegan options, and welcomes large parties. For something more upscale, Tavern 6330’ offers relaxed fine dining with a family-friendly atmosphere.

8pm Night Owls

Not quite ready for bed yet? The Village Cinemas movie theater offers nightly screenings of new releases for the whole family, as well as a full concession stand.
