What do I need to know to ride at the Bike Park?
The Northstar Bike Park offers lift-serviced bike trails from the Big Spring Gondola, the Tahoe Zephyr Express, and Vista Express.  The Bike Park operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 4 – 5 days week, weather and conditions permitting.  Guests should purchase Bike Park Passes and tickets online a day in advance of their intended visit for best rates and arrive early the day of their ride. Northstar Unlimited Bike Season Pass holders will be able to load the Big Springs Gondola beginning at 9:45 a.m., ahead of the general public.  Helmets are required for all riders.

Where can I purchase tickets for lift rides and summer activities? Do I need to make a reservation?
It is recommended to purchase Bike or Hike Passes and tickets online a day in advance of your intended visit.  Reservations are not required for summer activities.  

Are you offering bike lessons this summer?
Yes, the Northstar Bike Academy will be offering Freeride 101 Group lessons and Private bike lessons this summer.  Advanced reservations recommended.

Will the Northstar Bike Park still require physical distancing protocols?
As always, the health and safety of our employees, guests, and community is our top priority. We are continuing to operate in accordance with all State and local orders. We encourage guests of different households to physically distance and be respectful of each other’s space.

 

Do pass holders need to make a reservation?
Bike Park Season Pass holders are guaranteed access on all operational days. It is recommended that those purchasing a day bike haul ticket do so at least one day in advance of their intended visit for best rates.

Does my Season Pass for Winter 21/22 or Winter 22/23 give me Summer mountain access?
Bike haul is not included with a Winter Season Pass. The Winter 22/23 Season Pass will allow summer lift access for hiking and scenic sightseeing (excluding the Epic 1 – 7 day passes). Winter season pass holder information can be found here.

All Northstar Bike Park Passes and products are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be used in future seasons. A refund or credit may, at Northstar California's discretion, be issued under the extenuating circumstances listed below. Northstar California reserves the right to change this policy at any time.

Requests due to weather and/or conditions will not be accepted – NO EXCEPTIONS –

Qualifying Factors

Injury/Medical Issue - Must prevent the pass holder from using the pass for the majority of the season.

  • Must be certified by a physician and include the date of the first medical treatment, prognosis and the length of time the injury/medical issue will prevent participation.
  • Short term illnesses and pre-existing conditions do not qualify.

Employment Transfer - An involuntary employment transfer out of the region.

  • Must provide a letter from your employer stating the date the transfer will occur. The date of transfer must fall within the summer season (JuneOctober).
  • Voluntary employment transfers do not qualify

Pandemic (ie Covid 19) - In the event of a full resort closure between opening day and October 2, 2022

  • A credit toward the 2023 summer season will be offered to pass holders.
  • Calculation of the credit amount will follow the credit calculation process outlined below.

Other Pass - Receiving a complimentary or contractual pass through Northstar California or another company.

  • Must provide proof of the alternate pass product at the time of request.

How to Apply for a Credit

Application must:

  • Be put in writing from the pass holder (or Parent/Legal Guardian).
  • Provide an explanation regarding the refund or credit request and supporting documentation (requests will not be processed without supporting documentation).
  • Be within 2 weeks of the qualifying event described above. The final deadline for all cancellation requests is October 31st, 2022.

Applicable Fees and Usage

Should your application for a credit or refund be accepted, applicable usage will be determined based on the information below.

  • Usage rates are the same for all Bike Park Pass Products. Credits and refunds are calculated by taking the cost of the pass before tax, less cost of days used.
  • All pass usage, including Unlimited or Bonus early-season access, will be used in calculating the usage rate.
  • Days used will be based on the bike lift ticket advanced rate for any days used, with the knowledge that Saturday tickets are at a higher daily fixed rate.
