It takes special skills, a bit of charisma and deep passion for the mountains to be a ski patroller. Through harsh weather and rugged terrain, patrollers are on the mountain daily, ensuring safety for Northstar guests and employees. In honor of Ski California Safety Day, the Northstar Ski Patrol is offering a rare glimpse into their daily operations as they allow members of the public to join them as they open the mountain. On January 25, 2020, a small group of intermediate skiers will accompany patrol as they open terrain, drop rope lines, prepare sleds, and communicate with dispatch, all before the mountain opens. If interested, please contact Kolina Coe (KCoe@vailresorts.com) Season Pass or Lift Ticket required for participation. Lift ticket must be purchased in advance as the pass office will not open until after the event starts. All participants will be required to sign a release of liability.
