Northstar Team Foundation

Welcome to the Northstar Ski & Snowboard Team,

Thank you for being a part of Northstar’s Team Program. Our management team and coaches are excited to re-kindle past relationships and strike out on to new ones with athletes and their families. As always, our goal is to meet individual athlete needs while providing a safe, fun, and nurturing environment.

Northstar Ski and Snowboard teams offer an opportunity for your child to achieve their full potential on the mountain as a result of skills developed through various team programs that we offer.  Our focus is entirely on the success of each child, encouraging them to explore, grow and challenge themselves throughout the winter.

Coach:  Zach & Kadin

Preferred event: Slopestyle

What’s the highest level are you competing at this season? Revolution Tour

At what point (and age) did you know this was going to be your focus?    When I was 12 I started hitting rails and jumps on my race skis. That's when I decided that I liked being upside down more than going fast.

What are your goals in skiing short term & long term?       My short term goals are to make it to finals at the Revolution tour. My long term goals are to make it to the Olympics in SlopeStyle and HalfPipe.

Why do they call you Banana Sam?    People call me Banana Sam because I where all yellow outerwear with yellow skis and yellow poles.

Other talents/interests we should know about? I play the guitar and street perform.

Favorite place in the world/Where are you your happiest?    My favorite place in the world is Summit County in Colorado.

One thing we’d be surprised to learn about Sam Ward?   I have broken both of my legs skiing but have loved skiing more after my injuries.
