Team Vision  This program is designed to develop well rounded, lifelong freeskiers. It does so while pushing them to their own highest level in their chosen avenue within the sport.  

Program Description

This is a goal based program that allows athletes to push themselves toward a personal season long goal. Whether their goal is associated with competition, putting out a season edit, or getting accepted into a collegiate program, athletes will be given the structured support and tools to work toward their goals.
Program Focus This program is park and pipe focused and spends 50-70% of their time in the park based on age group and skill level.
Ages 13 - 18
Training Schedule/Start Dates Part Time: 11/18/2017
(Weekends and Holidays 8:30 – 2:30)

Minimum Skill Level Athletes must be able to consistently link turns without stopping on an advanced runs like Burnout or Ironhorse on the Backside as well as in the trees off of East Ridge. Athletes must also have some level of prior park experience including sliding small boxes and clearing small jumps.
Competition   Competition is based on skill level measured by the athlete skill card system. For athletes at the appropriate skill level coaching support is available at contests ranging from Local USASA events and Rev Tour upward to AFP or FIS contests. Ratio 1:6 (compete: training)

Program Description This program is rooted in the athlete experience and offers a fun centered curriculum to develop and progress the athletes in all aspects of Freeskiing. All athletes in this program will receive an opportunity to gain some form of competitive experience, as well as the exposure to noncompetitive paths within freeskiing. 
Program Focus This program is park and pipe focused and spends 40-50% of their time in the park based on age group and skill level.

Program Description

This program is designed for young skiers who have the desire to learn and compete in moguls, with a focus on development. Training includes skiing moguls, slopestyle, halfpipe, big mountain, powder, trees, jumps, gates, steeps, and more. Athletes will train on a private mogul course in our new training arena approximately 50%-60% of the time. We introduce competitive skiing, and allow athletes to develop their own personal vision for the sport. This program is designed for the freestyle athlete who has selected moguls as their competitive focus, and will continue to develop foundational skiing skills as well as all aspects of competitive mogul skiing, including; specific acrobatic training, technical and tactical development, physical conditioning, and goal setting.

  • Training fundamentals of skiing and riding
  • Build skills needed for higher level competition in the future
  • Employ strong turn concepts, technical skills, and competition tactic and strategy
  • Athletes build skills required to participate in higher level competitions, which take place in USSA Far West Division competitions, and have the opportunity to qualify for Jr. Nationals and Nationals.

Program Description

Our Alpine race U14 program is designed for the athlete that love to “ARC” a ski and wants to take their ski racing to the next level. This program emphasizes the teaching of skiing skills through an emphasis on Alpine Ski Racing. Skill development will be built through a planned progression of directed free skiing and gate training.  Our goal is to develop a lifelong passion for the sport of skiing in addition to healthy competition. Athletes will train and compete in Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G. Our alpine race coaches will provide skill development in the areas of All Mtn Skiing, Moguls, dynamic skiing in all conditions, and race training. Days on the hill will include 60% directed free skiing in all terrain and turn shape, and 40% gate drills/race training. “We can only make good skiers fast” -Dir. NSST Aaron Atkins

Competition
Athletes have the option of racing in the Far West race series which is part of USSA or in the Tahoe League. Travel may be required. Travel costs are additional for all Competition trips and camps outside of the Tahoe Basin.

Summer Camp (July or Aug) – SL, GS Camp fundamentals, tactics @ Mt Hood
