New "Plus Programs"

The Northstar Ski and Snowboard Team Plus Programs, formerly called Full Time, provide additional training to Northstar athletes four to five days a week, from November through April, with optional weekday training. The program is optimal for athletes who want to take their performance to the next level. Athletes already signed up for Northstar team programs can more than double their training days, from 45 to 90+ days on snow, for a marginal extra cost.

Do you need to live in Tahoe to benefit from the Plus Programs?

Absolutely not. The Plus Programs offer flexible scheduling for busy athletes and parents. Training calendars for the Plus Programs typically extend for one to three weekends prior-to and after the Weekends & Holidays program season. See calendar for details. With an increase in drop-in fees this season, a Plus Programs pays for itself after just a few training days. View team calendars.

Are the Plus Programs only for the Competitive (aka "Comp") Teams?

No. The Plus Programs are available for all of the development programs. For more information about the 'Plus' program, contact Sean Warman via email at swarman@vailresorts.com.

Northstar Team Foundation Survey

The Northstar Team Foundation Board has created a season-end questionnaire to collect information so they are better equipped to serve the Northstar Team athletes.

Please help support the foundation and teams by filling out the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NorthstarFoundation.

Northstar Foundation Supports Full Time Athletes and Offers 20 Grants

Committed to having one of the best teams in the region, the Foundation recognizes that having additional opportunities to train is an essential element in an athlete's ability to grow and progress. Additionally, the Foundation recognizes that attracting and retaining high-quality coaches starts at the top with strong full-time coaching. We are offering 20 grants to build our full-time team which, in turn, supports our entire coaching staff.

The grants are designed to increase participation in the Plus Programs and partially offset the cost of the Plus Program for 20 lucky participants. Grants are offered to the first 20 applicants.

  • Grant amount for Development Teams is $100 per athlete.
  • Grant amount for Competitive Teams is $150 per athlete.
  • No application will be accepted without the required information, outlined below.
  • Multiple athletes in a family may apply.
  • Grant checks will be mailed by July 15, 2013.
