Learn from the Pros and learn to love the game of golf! Northstar California’s Golf Director Pete Smith has more than 30 years of teaching experience. He and his team of teaching professionals are ready to help golfers of all ages and abilities improve their game and lower their score.
If you are new to the game, mastering the fundamentals will help you enjoy your time on the course. For experienced golfers, a lesson can help fix that frustrating slice, improve your putting or gain another 20 yards on your drive. Reservations are required.

Casey Logan, Teaching Professional
Casey is a knowledgeable, dedicated, and passionate instructor for golfers of all levels. He has proven himself to be very successful in helping his students to learn, improve, and have fun along the way. During the last 4 seasons at Northstar, Casey has lead our popular Junior Golf Schools, a variety of daily clinics, and been our busiest private lesson instructor.
Pete Smith, Director of Golf
Pete has been a very successful golf teacher in Truckee/Tahoe for the last 20 years. With more than 30 years teaching experience, working at the Olympic Club, Kapalua and many years at Tahoe Donner, Pete brings a wealth of golf knowledge to his students. He has won Player of the Year honors in the Sierra Nevada PGA 4 times. Pete is available for private lessons on a limited basis.
Bob Milani, Junior Golf Schools/Clinics Instructor
Decades of coaching and teaching experience at North Tahoe High School and his understanding of the game make Bob a great resource for developing golfers of all ages.
Personalized Golf School
Northstar's personalized golf learning programs, ranging from 2 - 5 hours per day, are created based on the golfer's experience - from the brand new to the seasoned golfer. Classes may include club fitting, full swing, short game, rules, etiquette, on course play and more. Multi-day programs are available.
