7X US National Champion
"I was never the most talented kid on the mountain, but I was determined to constantly improve, and I've had some great opportunities and supporters along the way. Each season has been a little better than the last one. And here I am."
Hometown: Reno, NV
Who would you like to thank? God, my family (both my blood family and the people that have become my family ver the years, you know who you are) Trainer Max McManus, Clay Beck and his family, my teachers that basically let me get away with missing half the year just so that I could be a ski bum, and everyone along the way that has felt like I was worth investing in. When I'm out there, I'm skiing for you guys. Sponsors: 4FRNT Skis, Smith Optics, Monster Energy, Visa, O'Neill, Kicker Audio, and US Freeskiing.
Describe your perfect day: Waking up early and spending time with my wife and little girl, a solid breakfast, a couple hours either on my skis or my mountain bike, a massive lunch, then jumping on the trampoline in the afternoon and goofing around on the slackline in my backyard, an evening softball game followed by a BBQ at my house with all my good people.
What's the most exciting moment in your career thus far? It's a tie between winning X Games this year and winning World Championships. They were favorite runs of all time, and huge personal accomplishments for me.
How are you preparing for Sochi, mentally and physically? I always try to do everything within my power to be prepared for the season. That means working out a ton, riding my mountain bike, visualizing, jumping on the trampoline, eating healthy, and spending quality time with my family. For the Olympics in Sochi I'm doing all of those things, just more than I ever have before.
If you weren’t a pro skier, where would you be today? I think I'd still be trying my hand at baseball, I love sports so much that I would have tried to make it pro in something, even if I failed.
