Northstar California Resort encompasses more than 8,000 acres of multiple land uses and ownership within its boundary. It is one of North America's finest year-round mountain resorts, maintaining a commitment to the environment and forest lands, as well as to the guest experience, in the highly-competitive resort industry world.
A winter sport enthusiast's paradise, Northstar currently offers 97 ski trails across 3,170 acres, award-winning terrain parks and snow sports, including alpine and Telemark skiing, snowboarding, crosscountry skiing, snowshoeing and tubing. Summer activities include mountain biking, golf, scenic lift rides for sightseeing and hiking, fly-fishing, and more. Northstar is also host to a base area village, featuring, shops and restaurants, a conference center, a 9,000-squarefoot outdoor skating rink, movie theaters, on-site lodging, and special events throughout the year.
Over the years, Northstar has continually invested in the resort experience while recognizing the importance of its stewardship of the land. Northstar balances a phenomenal outdoor recreational experience with many environmental programs, including recycling, rideshare, a LEED-certified village, green tags, and energy efficiencies for snowmaking and lighting.
In late 2012, Northstar submitted its Mountain Master Plan and proposed mountain improvements over the next decade to Placer County for review and approval.
