Northstar California Resort, in large partnership with environmental non-profit organizations, Sierra Watch and Mountain Area Preservation Foundation, seized upon an opportunity to develop a comprehensive document that could be used as a planning tool.
Known as the Habitat Management Plan and finalized in 2009, it is a perpetual resource management guide that is used to conserve and enhance the natural resource values of Northstar lands while allowing for current and planned future land uses in a manner that is compatible with strong stewardship.
This balance of the needs of Northstar California Resort and the special environment we all treasure here in Martis Valley resulting in the creation of the Habitat Management Plan is a story of meaningful, successful collaboration.
