Join Northstar California and High Fives Foundation for a Snow Safety Day on Sunday, January 20, 2013. All are welcome to join for a morning video and Q&A with avalanche experts, pro athletes, and ski patrollers. There will also be a avalanche safety equipment show and tell. Following the morning session, 15 lucky kids will be invited to join the Northstar Ski Patrol for on-hill demonstrations, beacon scavenger hunt, and much more. |
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Videos and Q&A - BASICS Avalanche Awareness will be shown. Parents and Kids are welcome to meet and ask questions to top avalanche experts, ski patrol, professional athletes and the High Fives Foundation. There will also be an avalanche safety equipment show and tell.
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Lunch on own
12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Afternoon Session: On-Hill Demonstrations and Q&A in Ski Patrol locker room. (This is limited to 15 lucky kids who sign up and tell us why snow safety is important to them)
2:30 p.m. Parents will pick up kids participating in the afternoon session at Petra in the Village at Northstar. In support of High Fives, Petra will offer $5 glasses of wine and will donate a portion of bottle sales ro High Fives Foundation.
