Join us at Northstar with star guide and poet Tony Berendsen for an intimate look at the Sierra stars. Bring childlike curiosity and wonderment to view the cosmos with telescope extraordinaire, Ryan Berendsen, through high-powered Celestron telescopes. Enjoy comfortable seating, blankets, hot chocolate, and more as the conversation covers the possibilities of extraterrestrial life and the solar eclipse, which will occur on August 21.
Tahoe Star Tours at Northstar's Dark Skies Cosmoarium
Featuring wide, unobstructed horizons for viewing, the Cosmoarium provides Tahoe Star Tours participants with comfortable seating, fire pit, blankets, and complimentary hot chocolate, Starbucks Coffee, s'mores and Aquafina water.Offering convenient access for guests lodging or visiting the resort, the Cosmoarium is located near the entrance to Northstar on the lower level of the Castle Peak parking area.
Directions: Turn right at the round-about on Northstar Drive and arrive at the Northstar Dark Skies Cosmoarium. Park in Lot #1 immediately to your right when you pull in.
Tahoe Star Tours at Northstar's Dark Skies Cosmoarium, The Perseids Meteor Shower
This special evening, star guide Tony Berendsen will lead you on a journey through the Perseids Meteor Shower, one of the most popular meteor showers of the year. Star Tour participants will enjoy viewing meteors up to rates of 80 per hour with unhindered views from our Dark Skies Cosmoarium. Complimentary hot chocolate, Starbucks Coffee, and Aquafina water along with comfortable seating, s'mores and blankets will make this night truly memorable.

Gaze under the alpine night sky from The Backyard’s open meadow located at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe every Friday evening throughout the summer. Join star guide and poet Tony Berendsen for an intimate look at the Sierra stars, as well as lively conversation around the possibilities of extraterrestrial life and the solar eclipse, which will occur on August 21. Bring childlike curiosity and wonderment to view the cosmos through high-powered Celestron telescopes and enjoy the personalized service offered by the Ladies & Gentlemen of this luxury resort, along with blankets, hot chocolate, coffee and water.
Tahoe Star Tour Concert Evening
We invite you to experience the Sierra night sky like never before at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe Ballrooms for a Concert Star Tour featuring Accent on August 11th. This concert, timed to correspond with the Perseid Meteor Shower, features stargazing, and a live performance including the world premiere of a quintet composed by Stephanie Ann Boyd of Berendsen’s poem “Oh How We Wonder.”
Please join us for two special evenings on June 16th at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe's Café Blue and July 21st at Northstar's Dark Skies Cosmoarium for Music and Poastromy featuring Celloist Natalie Kepple.
Natalie enjoys multiple genres and has experience playing in Scottish groups, jazz bands, folk and sacred bands and film music. Finishing her bachelor’s degree in music at the University of Nevada Reno, she will pursue a masters in cello performance at the University of Washington in the fall of 2017.
